One CPA.
One office. One CPA. One phone that rings.
James D. Speed has been preparing taxes and keeping books for the people and businesses of Ada for roughly three decades. The practice is small on purpose — the person who signs the return is the person you talked to on the phone.
Work here runs the way a CPA office used to run. You bring in a folder or email a PDF, we sit down and go through it, and you leave knowing what was filed and what it cost. No portals to learn, no monthly subscription, no chatbot in the middle.
Local voices.
Trusted in Pontotoc County“James has been doing our taxes for years. He's fair, thorough, and he actually explains what he's doing. You don't get that everywhere.”
“Walked in without an appointment and got everything sorted the same afternoon. Best CPA in Ada, hands down.”
Clarifying the process.
Do I need an appointment?+
No. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00. If it's the last week of tax season and the lobby is full, a quick call ahead saves everyone time.
What does a first meeting cost?+
The first consultation is free. If we end up preparing your return or taking on your books, we'll quote the work up front — no surprise invoice at the end.
What should I bring for a tax return?+
Photo ID, last year's return if you have it, and any W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, or receipts you've collected. Missing something? Come in anyway — we'll make a list of what's still needed.
Do you work with clients outside Ada?+
Yes. Most clients are in and around Ada, but returns and bookkeeping can be handled by email, mail, or drop-off for anyone in Pontotoc County and the surrounding area.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. James D. Speed is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. License and insurance details are available on request.
